Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My work focuses on French literature, culture, and thought of the long nineteenth century (especially the realist and naturalist novel) and the environmental humanities, as well as critical theory, space and place, race and empire, and gender and sexuality. Please see the links above to learn more about my research (including my two book projects, Mapping Prostitution and Weathering Modernity), teaching, recent presentations, and work with the UNC Carolina Seminar "The Anthropocene, the Humanities, and the Social Sciences."
